Hi can you help me ?
This is my sister in laws nail that has lifting she has been doing some work fitting a new kitchen. I just wondered is there was anything obvious to you more experinced geeks that i have done wrong.
I have just done my ezflow l&p conversion and only done a few sets, i was devastated when she said hers had lifted as she has never had lifting before. :irked:

Thanks x

Hiya ... I would say its either getting too close to the skin or your prep...?? don't worry its early days and these things will stop the more experienced you get.

You could always ring your educator and maybe send them this pic ??

Hi, I'm not familiar with EZ Flow, (I use CND) but I have learned that prep is everything. There is a tutorial on this site entitled: Perfect PREP prevents problems. It's an amazing tutorial and I think this will help.

If your prep is spot on, then maybe your sister-in-law was too hard on her nails. Our salon motto is: 'Nails are jewels, not tools'. LOL! Maybe she can wear gloves when doing the heavy work. I hope this helps.

Good luck to you! :)

It is just too easy to blame prep ALL the time for lifting. Other things can cause lifting and you need to learn the signs.

Sometimes nails rebel a little to a new and different product ... it can take a rebalance or two to settle down ... HOWEVER ...

this lifting indicates too much 'torque' pressure. Her nails are just too long to fit a new kitchen with and the pattern of lifting shows quite clearly she has been twisting things with her fingers and it in turn has caused the typical 'torque' pattern where a triangular portion is sticking to the nail and the rest is lifting.

You can see this pattern of lift on anyone who uses the tips of their fingers allot such as new mums (doing up buttons, prams, pushchairs etc). Many ladies who work in dress shops suffer similarly UNTIL you shorten the nails to a more manageable length.

Your prep may be spot on ... they need to be shorter.
