I have just converted to Gel with Entity and was really impressed with the results!.........only 3 days later they are chipping or coming off in one whole nail!!!!! Any suggestions on where I'm going wrong, can't get hold of trainer!!!

If they're coming off whole after just 3 days then that would suggest that they weren't on properly to begin with.

re the chipping, did you cap the free edge before curing each layer/application?

Talk us through your prep/routine to see if we can help.

I agree with Sandi, it is far more likely to be prep and application problems than the product. Which is good news as these can be fixed without you losing any money! ;)

I'm doing the prep as trained, removing the shine, cleansing with Natural nail prep. I just did overlays on my own nails! Applied a thin coat of nu-bond, then a thin layer of clear gel which I then cured, applied white then cured, then the pink, cured, then a layer of clear, cured. wiped the nails with Natural Nail Prep to remove sticky. I then filed, applied thin coat of UV gel and cured!!!

Am I doing this right???

Personally, I don't know the whole application process for Entity gel but notice that you didn't mention removing cuticle from the nail plate. That is a major factor in enhancements lifting and coming off whole and IMO the most important part of prep, the gel can't bond with the nail if there's something blocking it (ie cuticle).

It's usual to 'cap' the nails with each coat/layer to totally encase the natural nail, I'm thinking that this is why you've had the chipping.

Thank you Sandi,

Yes I did remove cuticle, I think maybe it's the capping!!! Thank you for your advice!

They do look lovely and I much prefer gel!

hmmm, then there must be something else causing it to come off whole, not capping the free edge wouldn't normally cause that to happen, it would mean lifting from the free edge but not the whole enhancement and not that soon after application.

Did you ensure no contact from your fingers with the natural nail OR from your client's fingers/hair/skin and their natural nails before you applied the gel?
Having the oils from fingers/skin etc come into contact with the nail after prep but before application can cause the gel not to adhere to the nail.

Hope you manage to figure out what's caused it :D
