Hi, need some advice please.

I am looking for a new moisturier that I can use on my sensitive, combination, clogged pore skin.

I had a swiss dermyl facial the other day which was nice but someone has said that my skin type shouldnt really be using anything with plant extracts or essential oils etc in it. I already use a nice cleanser that I like (bodyshop aloe cream cleanser) which seems to suit my skin very well, however the moisturiser that compliments it is much too heavy for my skin.

Have read alot about Environ and just wondered if anyone could recommend a moisturiser for me?

thanks

Hi there, sorry but I canr offer a professional view on a moisturiser, ( I have just taken on Environ but do my training in a couple weeks). But,I can say that I used the AVST1 on my skin, which can be tempramental, and my skin has never been better! It may be a good idea to try to find a loval Environ stockist for advice. Im sure you will be thrilled with the products!

I dont know why you have been told that you cannot have a facial with products or use products yourself, using essential oils or with plant extracts.Who told you this?

Darphin have a fabulous range for all skin types.

All of the Darphin products are aromatherapy/plant based and are fine to use on your skin type.Have a look for a salon near you who uses Darphin and ask for advice please.HTH

I am also wondering the same thing.

Didn't the the therapist that gave you the facial prescribe you any products or give you any advice.

Normally I say the best thing to do is go to a therapist and get some advice face to face but it sounds like you have already done this and are non the wiser ?

Hi, many thanks for replies.

It was someone on here that said plant based/essential oils are no good for my skin type so I have always tried to stay away from them type of products.

I have not had an Environ facial as yet, do have one booked though but not until the end of April as I have just had a swiss dermyl facial.

Hi, as there are 4 entry level moisturisers to choose from in the Environ range, it's difficult to recomend the most appropriate without going through the consultation procedure. Why don't you pop into the salon before your facial and ask the therapist for his/her advice.

Well,I beg to differ and I have had many clients with your skin type that I have used aromatherapy/plant based facial products on and had no problems whatsoever.

To rule out plant extract/aromatherapy based products for any skin type is untrue and misleading. There are many very very good facial ranges that use aromatherapy/plant based products in their products for your type of skin(as described)if it were true that they were no good then they wouldn't be developed or advertised for your skin type as this would be misleading and could possibly cause contra- actions.

Anyway, hope you enjoy your facial, whatever you go for, maybe shop around and ask for some aromatherapy based samples and see how you find they are for your skin.

Thats one of the oddest comments I have ever heard !! As Babs said above its completely untrue and I would love to hear the facts behind this persons 'advice'

Sorry I don't think I explained myself properly before but I meant why didn't the therapist that gave you the swiss dermal facial give you any samples, skincare advice or reccommend any products ?

i would try using salycilic acid based products such as puramed professional 2% salycilic daily exfoliant and salycilic moisterizer ,salycilic or bha is lipophillic which means it dissolves sebum and oil extremely effective for your skin issues

I'm sure Environ have plant extracts anyway e.g green tea extract and rosemary leaf extract in AVST 1
