Hiya Geeks,

Just wondering if anyone has completed the Essential Nails Nail Art Course, and if so how did they do?

I have completed the course and am now awaiting the results. I have to say that the designs were, in my opinion, were not anything I would choose to wear and I can't imagine any of my clients requesting any of the designs. But I do understand that it is a couse using different methods of nail art.

I found the white paint very hard to paint with and found that I have to use 3/4 coatas of white to get a good coverage and ended up waiting ages for the nails to dry before applying the nail art.

I would love to hear how other geeks who have completed the course found it.

I did the nail art course in December and passed with a distinction.
I agree about the designs but I just used the techniques to design my own.
Take a look at this website, It's brilliant.

Good luck with your results.

Hiya shellykelly

Many thanks for the link - I had a look and there are some fab ideas on there.

I have just received my mark for the course of 95% with Distinction.

I must say I did hate all the designs ans they were really "busy", but it's good to take little parts and add to your own ideas. I also though the colours that they used were awful. I can't imagine any of my clients asking for them.

Many thanks again & congratulation in passing your course with a Distinction.

Hi I have had it since Christmas and I must admit I wish I hadn't rushed to buy it, for one haven't had time to do it yet, have looked at the dvd and I don't think it was worth the £225 I paid for it, I don't even think I will get round to doing it, so all in all for me a bit of a disappointment, I think for someone starting out its not to bad, just a bit expensive but hey ho you learn lol :o) :)

I must admit I bought mine after reading the review that Martin John did in Scratch magazine. To be honest, I was a dissapointed in the designs. However, I did like the designs that Kirsty Meakin did on the DVD, I felt they were much nicer, and would like to have seen more of her work.

Still I have another certificate to go on my wall, so all is not lost.

Well done on your pass.

You will find sometimes that not everyone agrees with home learning and some put EN down, but it works for me cause I have small children.

I agree about it being a bit pricey, but hey, isn't everything these days.

I initially did EN and I dont think people really put it down, they just advise a better way of learning.

Classroom learning is better, like it or not, it is IMO.

I have since trained with EzFlow and its better value for money and they are always on hand for me. They have also offered me more opportunities than I would ever get with EN. x

I do agree that classroom learning is better. It would have been my first option if I didn't have young children.

To be honest I never really looked into other coarses, but sometimes I wish I did.

I know what you mean, it took me ages to go ahead with it but now i have I wont look back. Try a conversion they are just one day and you learn so much.

Thanks geeks for all your replies.

I agree that it you have small children it is a great way to learn as there is no pressure to complete the courses within a certain time frame, as was in my case.

I have done all the courses with Essential Nails with the exeption of the Airbrshing (which I can't get to grips with), but have also done the conversion courses with Creative.

It seems to work for some people. But in my opion, it's a great learning base, but I do think that you need and want further training eventually.

Thanks again for all your comments
