hi all,:)

just been googling as you do, why do some salons exfoliate and use hot towels when waxing. And if so, is it before or after wax etc. Much info as poss please and do you do this in your waxing salon???

Hello,

Exfoliation and the use of steamed towels is practiced in several salons which does not have this modern waxing solutions that applies the necessary moisture to loosen up pores, so waxing up will be much easier and effective. Steamed towels manifests that moisture to trigger the pores to open up and exfoliation will make sure the skin surface is squeaky clean.....

Anyways most urban salon employs this conventional method and perhaps u'll notice the difference in payment. :)

Hi,you would never exfoliate or use hot towels after waxing. The dead skin cells have already been removed with the waxing and pores opened from the heat of the wax.

I personally don't know anyone who does this before waxing,We use a pre wax lotion to cleanse the skin and the wax is at the ideal temp to open hair follicles to aid in easy removal of hair.

The only thing I can think of is that is used as a more pampering treatment ,but it's really not a necessary part of the waxing process.Hth
