Was just wondering if you all charge normal prices if working on new years eve and or christmas eve or do any of you charge a little extra?

Hi, There's nothing special about these days (like bank holidays) so, no I don't charge any extra but I do close earlier, at 4pm:)

No definitely not....and that's even up here in Scotland where Hogmonay (New Years Eve) is a big deal!

In fact when I was in a salon, I used to have sparkling wine and some nibbles for my clients on Christmas Eve to add to the holiday feeling.....and the same at Hogmonay with some shortbread for extra Scottishness!

Same price for every day I am open.

If you are worried about people not turning up for their appointment, you can call to confirm and/or take a deposit.

I charge the same prices but i take a 50% deposit off everyone who is booked in for Christmas week and New Years Eve.
People forget appointments as they are busy rushing around so it's best to get a deposit.
No-one minds paying it as when they come for their appointment they only have to pay half. :)

Normal prices, these clients support us all year round, to up our prices on those days would lose us a huge amount of goodwill

Couldn't agree more.... we charge the same and usually give a small gift or 'offer' to be used during January/February.

Look after your clients well and they will look after your business into the future.:)

Same prices.....having to work at these times is just part of the service industry.

same price for me too. officially these are just regular working days, not public holidays.

if however my time means more to me than the regular price of services, then i choose not to work at all. i have just finished seeing all my regular clients and will not be back at work until the 4th of jan.

Sames prices, whatever time of year IF I AM SCHEDULED TO WORK THAT DAY.

However...... if I'm choosing to take the day as a vacation day, and not booking anyone else.. I have recently decided that if someone nags me enough or is desperate enough to have me on my 'day off'... then there WILL be a surcharge.

Think of it as overtime pay. In other areas of business, when staff works over 40hrs, they get time & a half or double time.
So, it seems fair to me.

I have not determined what yet.
When I have, I will post it on my price list.

"Same Prices" - get's my vote. Keeping customers is far cheaper than finding new ones!
