Hey everyone, I just wanted to ask a bit of advice on extractor fans, currenty I am trying to get together equipment for spray tanning to add to my services. I am interested in buying the HVLP5008 (maximist) and using either he-shi or WhiteToBrown. I am a mobile therapist so will be needing an extractor pretty light to carry around, any advice would be great! Christine

Hi, I am also a mobile therapist and do spray tanning using the same machine and do not find the need for an extractor as there is very little overspray. If you need any further information Steve from Nouvatan uses this site and will be able to help. www.Nouvatan.co.uk

the machine your looking to buy the hvlp 5008 Maximist gives out next to no overspray and if used within a booth (spray tan cubicle) there is really no need for an extraction system, it uses only around 40ml of solution to do a full body when applied correctly, less is best :lol:
I went to see someone recently who was only getting 12 tans to a litre and was going through filters on her extractor monthly, she had not been trained correctly and was filling the room/booth full of overspray
the money you save on the extractor fan would be better put to use on training and marketing HTH

Thanks ladies! I'm just wondering though, for insurance purposes do i not need one?

No not at all x

LADIES!!! I am a bloke lol :Grope:

 sorry!! My bad! Steve, I'm interested in buying the hvlp5008 from your company, do you have a contact number?

hiya i got my extractor from amber mist which i seen alot of people on this site were reccommending, was around £250, not too sure on all the details but its really good.before i got the extractor i didnt notice much overspray if doing only 1 or 2 tans but any more and it was settling on the surfaces and really got down your throat. the main reason i got mine was for tanning parties i was worried about it getting on the clients furniture. now ive got the extractor, i find it doesnt settle at all and cant taste it at all either which must be a good thing!

I never even thought of tanning parties! I might keep an eye out for a second hand one really just for that purpose!
