Hi geeks

been thinking of my recent woes of no clients and after my post on the biz geek have thought about doing a couple of sets of gelish on 2 models free of charge, in the hope they go about singing my praises and showing off their works of art advertising me

now as they are non paying models I would like to make the decision as to what they have as part of the deal, and wondered what you all think I could do to make them really eye catching to onlookers , getting people talking and hopefully some bookings

can any of you think of designs that have brought you business

xx

I wanted to do this, when I asked, other geeks said I should charge £5 to cover product costs! I still had 7 models that day jumping to the chance!

ok great will consider that, any ideas on designs would be great

I feel your woe in a lack of clients , I sent my friend out with the nails attached and everyone loves them ! Not sure what age most of your clientele is, but Facebook and Instagram have been HUGE promotors of my work, girls calling me asking for similar things . It's great. Giving a little seems to always come around in a way. Also having referral programs have been great, what gal doesn't want a good deal ?!

Hope some of that helped :)

Also I agree with the above comment of charging at least 5$ for your services, even if you don't need it, it helps with the mental aspect for your model that it won't always be FREE!

OK thanks hun

just struggling to grasp that out of the 140 viewings my post has had , none of them have eye catching work....... strange

From what I have seen of your nails, you wont have any problems getting them noticed. I think you need to choose your models well. It must be someone that will be seen out and about.
Not sure about charging... I mean you could but you must have free choice about what design you give them. It's advertising, so it would come out of that part of your business budget.

Look at post #15228 on the "What nails" thread, they are fab. Something like that?

Thanks so much hun

Yes I totally agree with you that's why I wasn't going to charge, I was just thinking it costs me a few pounds and an hours time and could work really well , however a leaflet drop would cost in leaflets, hours of time posting and probably not one phone call, not to mention incredibly boring, whereas doing someone's nails is a pleasure :)

sounds like a good idea, when i finished training for gel extensions i then advertised them for £15 as a cheap deal, one lady found me on facebook and in turn she reccomended me to her freind and sister and daughter, they are now regulars :)

I agree Danielle your nails always look fab and eye catching! I wouldn't ask for models- If u were you I would run a special offer on you page etc, put pics of your own nails on even repeating previous posts. I'm very quiet too think this time of year might be a little bit like that for everyone, don't undersell yourself if you really want to do it for free do your friends or family xx

Have you ever been on the website Pinterest? I've seen soooo many nail designs on there that are incredible and always give me ideas.

Most eyecatching idea I saw on there that I tried was minion nails from the "Despicable Me" films. I did them on a woman who works in a school and everyone from kids to older people were talking about them and thought they were fab. Obviously not a style for everyone to wear though lol.

Most popular thing that people have seen done on someone else and asked for is a few rhinestones inlaid into acrylics. I think it depends on what sort of area you work in though because a lot of the things that are popular where I live, in another area people think they're awful :/

Hope that helps :) x
