I personally prefer to have threading done

Kathleen

Kathleen I have never waxed my eyebrows, have always done my own threading since i was 11!!.....I think you can automatically tell when someone has there brows threaded!! x

I hate having my brows threaded and only have it done as there is a salon in a nearby town where you can drop in... I much prefer having mine waxed but struggle doing it myself lol

I think a good waxer can achieve exactly the same result as threading. I've always done my own brows but about 5 yrs ago I broke my shoulder and couldn't do them so I had them threaded.

I was quite excited as I had heard a lot of hype about how much better:p threading was so with great anticipation I sat in my chair as the girl threaded my brows.

I found it very uncomfortable, like an elastic band being twanged against my skin and the process seemed to go on forever in comparison to waxing.

My finished result was probably on par with tweezering, certainly no better.
I would like to do a threading course but that's not because I consider it to be superior to waxing or tweezering. Its more so I can offer it to my clients if they ask for it.

I definitely prefer threading - being Mediterranean skin toned, my hair is dark and quite coarse, so the threading gives a much neater finish on me. In terms of my clients, it's a mix really - although more are leaning towards threading now a days. The problem with threading is, you need to be bloomin good at it to offer it as a service, otherwise people won't see the difference or true benefits! Being good also means being quick so it's less uncomfortable! I personally know I'm not that good at doing it, hence why I don't do it and one of my staff in the salon does (she's fab at it!) x

Threading is amazing! First time I cried lol second time there were tears and now im cool! You do have to get used to the feeling.

I prefer the look that threading gives but I like the fact that with wax I'm getting every tiny little blonde hair out and my eyebrows are ready to shape with tweezers.
Everyone always asks me if I have my eyebrows threaded because I give them the same shape as threaded brows but Ive just waxed and plucked them.

I rather threading as its better for the skin IMO, however i have to say, never noted a real difference in the shape it gives vs wax and tweezers

I think the finished look is down to the therapist, not the technique used.

Personally I prefer threading but will soon be adding brow waxing too as that's what certain clients want.

I would like to think brows I do will look the same whether I have threaded or waxed because I will be aiming for the same shape and ensuring that all hairs are removed, regardles of which method I use

I agree with Elliebee that it is down to the therapist and not the method.

Beautiful eyebrows take time, and sadly I have seen lots and lots of eyebrows (waxed and threaded) where it is obvious that not much time or thought has been applied to the task.

I have also heard many times that threading lasts longer.

If a hair is tweezed, waxed, or threaded from its follicle, along with the root, then the longevity of the re-growth will be the same regardless of the technique used.

Threading all the way I do a lot of facial threading and not only can achieve fantastic results, clients don't walk out red. I think it's much kinder to the skin, it's great for people who are on medication and cannot have any other form of hair removal.

Unfortunately, I have never used wax in my life.......my thread has been my best friend :)

Sorry but I think that's wrong - I turn just as red being threaded as I do being waxed... and I've tried it at 3 different salons for threading over the years (as I say I only have it done now out of convenience if I happen to be passing as it's a drop in service...) several minutes of having hair repeatedly ripped off compared to 4-5 very quick wax pulls... waxing every time if I had the option!

Ideally I think offer both... I won't offer threading as I don't like it as a treatment so couldn't honestly sell it... :)

I get a rash when I've been threaded so waxing for me.

I think these brows you have done are absolutely fab! Especially on the sparse blonde ones! Love them! x

Hi Angelina221 - There are several reasons why you may come out in a rash, most importantly the skin has to be cleansed first and secondly it all depends on the type of thread that is being used on the skin and how much pressure is being applied when removing the hair. The thread has to be !00% natural cotton as some therapists use Polyester which is a No No....this can cause a reaction when rubbed against the skin xxx

Thank you Elliebee for your kind words, glad you like them xxx

Really surprised regarding your experience!! I've been threading now for about 5 years and I can honestly say no one leaves red like they can with waxing. Threading is a little longer than waxing but it is much kinder to the skin, however I know it's not for everyone so I offer both:biggrin:
