Just did an eyebrow tint for a lady yesterday who had really fair eyebrows. Just used the natural brown by Refectocil and left it on a matter of seconds. Now, they looked great, but she looked in the mirror and said 'Oh my eyebrows are very dark!'. :irked:I stayed cool and calm on the outside but in the inside I was panicking.:eek:
The only thing I could think of to do was rub over them with the tint stain remover. I did this for a while and it took them down a wee bit, but I still think she thought they were too dark.
I said to her, sometimes when you're so fair and you get them a bit darker, it can be a bit of a shock and when she washes her face tonight, they'll tone down a tiny bit more.
Did I do the right thing? Are there any special tips on what to do if a tint is too dark?
Thanks

This has happened to me before, i.e. with me being the client (before I was a beauty therapist) and they do fade very quickly. She will probably love them in a day or two.

Refectocil also do a light brown which I would recommend. It's great for blondes.

Oh don't worry hun we have all been there! My sister is a red head and like you I left the tint on her brows for a matter of seconds and they came out a bit darker than expected. I told her just to go over them with her face wash a few times and they had settled in a few days. Luckily she did have a fringe and she was my sister lol
Now I concentrate on one at a time and remove it with a dry cotton pad first. I then show the client and then remove it with a damp one. Sometimes I find it can make them look darker but making them wet, so I will also explain this to them.
It's all a learning curve. Sometimes it not a bad thing!

One of the girls on a course I was on said that solar oil helps lift eyebrow tint...

How true it is ... ive no idea ....

Don't panic too much as eyebrow tint normally fades very quickly, and often reduces in colour quite a bit the next day (after cleansing). Once I tinted some light eyebrows (with Refectocil) & although I thought they looked great the client said they were too dark (even though they matched her hair colour) & I thought that would be the last I saw of her. Next month I get a phonecall & she asked for an eyebrow appointment. When she came in I asked whether she wanted to go lighter than last time & she actually asked to go darker! Apparently everyone had commented on how great her brows looked. Eyebrow tiniting can always be a little scarey for clients, especially on fair eyebrows, but after a few days they get used to them & normally end up loving them!
