hey everyone, i'm new to this board and i wanted to post because i'm really stressing about a brow wax i did on a client today at work. her brows were very thick and coarse, however, the hairs that needed to be taken out were quite short. many of them came out, but a lot of them were too short to be taken out with wax or even tweezers. so in some areas of her brows, it looked like nothing was done to them. in another area of her brows, i felt i had taken too much out. her brows didn't look too bad at the end of the wax, and the client wasn't concerned with the result at all. i explained to her why the short ones weren't coming out, and that she should try to grow her brows out fully before waxing them again to ensure a more even wax. i still got a tip and the client said they were fine. i'm still stressing though, i don't know if i'm just being too hard on myself or not. anyone else experience difficulty waxing really coarse brows?

yes - my own! i have dark, thick, strong eyebrow hairs and they will absolutely not come out with wax. I have to pluck them which suits me fine as i couldn't bear waiting for regrowth. I check them in a magnifying mirror every day and usually take out a few hairs daily to keep them neat all the time.

Perhaps your client had been plucking for years like me and would be better off continuing to do so!

Don't stress - she would have complained if she needed to and she certainly wouldn't have left you a tip if she was unhappy.

Some clients with brow hair like this usually cream or shave the hairs because either there are too many to tweeze or just to painful. This will be why they wouldn't come out.

Don't stress about it - she obviously knows that they were too short and probably thought it would be a gradual way of having them waxed.

Ask her when she comes in if she shaves off the re-growth as it looks very short.

She would NOT have left you a tip if she wasn't happy.

When you get a client like this, shadow their brows in to show them how great they would look if they let them grow. Then remove ONLY the brows outside the shape. The nest time they come they'll have grown more into a shape and they'll love you forever.

You did nothing wrong at all. xxx
