Hi, Im a little confused... When i did my beauty diploma we did individual eyelashes as part of the course but its not the same as the flirties lashes etc.
A friend of mine does eyelash extensions (cant remember what make) And charges around £100 a set so its definately the ones everyone seems to be doing training for at the moment.

My question is do you actually have to have a qualification to do this or will her beauty qualification cover her? think she has nvq L3.
She told me a girl she works with at her salon trained her but she has no formal qualification.

Didnt sound right to me!

For insurance purposes, you do need a formal qualification in the treatments you offer. If this wasn't covered in her NVQ, then she will need a seperate qualification.

She needs a certificate in semi permanent lash extensions,
the lashes and adhesive used is very different to the ones used for individual lashes, hth

Thanks for the replies, i thought you would have to have a specific qualification as i should imagine its quite a difficult thing to learn to do!
I will have to ask her, thought it didn't sound right. I knew it was only the individual ones i did at college, maybe she did the semi permanent ones at college before she worked at the salon.

She may have learnt them as an extra class at college,
i know flirties offer to go into colleges and teach the students and im sure other companies will too,
she will still have a separate certificate if she has done it this way, hth
