Hi folks - carried out eyelash perming in college today, but altho we should have used collagen lotion there was none in our kits so we had to omit this part of the process.

I found my eyelashes seemed very brittle afterwards (I've assumed the collagen was a conditioning type of treatment), so my question is would those of you who carry out perming lashes regularly generally carry out the collagen lotion process?

Look forward to hearing from experienced geeks:).

Cheers,
jtp

I always use the collegan leaving it on for up to five mins...Could your lashes have been over processed?

You are right love the collagen is a conditioning treatment for the lashes and im sure most of us use it as a regular process in perming,
and as champagne has said, your lashes could have been over processed

Thanks for this, yes, quite probably my lashes have been over processed.
I'll get some collagen lotion from Sally tomorrow and put it on for 5 mins and hope this helps.

Could I ask what make of perm lotion you guys use? the one we're using in college is Amrose which I don't see listed in the catalogues I've got.

I dont mean to sound horrible or patronising here and do not mean to jump this thread but i am really shocked that sally's are selling these perm lotions to students who are not yet qualified. It goes without saying how dangerous these kits can be. Sorry JTP i dont mean to sound rude and am not judging you at all but its just i feel there should be more control with substances and chemicals like this!
However good luck with your course.
and sorry for jumping your thread abit! xx
