Hi, just a few questions. I've been looking for threads on custom blending for a while now. I've read and printed custom blending it up and the colour wheel. I'm struggling with mixing a nice blend. I've not even got to the stage where I think I have a base mix I can adapt for a client. To be honest I'm wasting more and more powder and its gutting! I'm completely ezflow.

1. Anyone have any recipes for a good few base mixes?
2. Whats best to measure with?
3. Whats best to mix in?
4. What are the ezflow alternatives to the CND custom blend colours?
5. How best do I apply to the nail to avoid marbling?
6. Anyone have a natural free edge mix, similar to Gigis secret mix?
7. Any other tips would be appreciated!

There you go, my lucky seven! I really want to be able to proudly do, and show off, a lovely set of custom blends :green:

Thanks so much in advance poppets! x x

there are a few on the site flower - type in "custom blend recipes" - see if that helps
2. Whats best to measure with?

it dont matter what you use hun - as long as this ratio for the mix is the same - ie - 400 opaque, 100 clear (this could be 400 teaspoons, or 400 pinch measures)

3. Whats best to mix in?

i always use a pot the size big enough to make about 2 tablespoons
4. What are the ezflow alternatives to the CND custom blend colours?

sorry cant answer that one

5. How best do I apply to the nail to avoid marbling?

layer it, like roof tiles - that way you wont get the marbeling flower

6. Anyone have a natural free edge mix, similar to Gigis secret mix?

i use cnd so therefore its 2 clear, 1.25 soft white, smidge yellow (this can be adjusted tho, to suit - just play with it flower, i know it takes alot of powder and monomer, but you wont get it right, unless you play

ezflow do a natural powder for your free edge hth
:)

you have to try and try n try again!!

as far as I know ezflow doesn't offer something similar to CND CB kit. but if you really ask me, I don't know of any OTHER brand offering such a kit.

as for the free edge, try! lol.

A good mix for a natural free edge, is using EzFlow A polymer white ( not truly white!!)with a touch of Citrine and some High Definition cover pink.
The mix should be 4:1 white to pink and just a touch of the Citrine. I add it into the white first before adding the pink.
If it is too opaque then you can add some A polymer clear into it too.

Also mixing some A polymer natural and white in a 50/50 mix can be a good colour.
