Hello geeks,

I have been asked to do face painting for a children's party for about 20 children.
I said that I would charge €3.00 per child, is this price enough or too much?
I've not face painted in a year or so so have taken a step back from it.
Also what if some children don't want their face painted, do I ask the client for €60.00 flat fee or deduct any children not face painted?

Thank you all xxxx

You are better with a flat fee, it saves confusion. This way the client knows exactly how much they need to pay and there is no dispute over amount of kids you have painted. I'm usure what exchange rate for Euro is atm but I would say your price sounds about right. I have recently started painting and generally charge approx £50 for 2 hour party, though I will be looking to increase this as I build up my experience. HTH

I charge per hour as if not u may be sat there waiting to paint kids while they play, I have lost money on this method when I first started as it doesn't cover ur time, I charge £40 per hour (our rates are quite high over here everything is more expensive than uk) and I can paint between 12 and 14 kids per hour that way clients can work out roughly what time is needed. If I finish early then I just charge for time I'm there as sometimes not all will want it done. Hope that helps Hun.

So basically my rates work out roughly £3 per face and a bit extra for travel time
