Do we all prefer salon geek or a well known Facebook group for info?

Starting finding the Facebook group more easier since I get notifications straight away

Probably won't be using salongeek much now

Nope, I don't like fb groups, it would drive me insane having my phone go off every 2 minutes with notifications not relevant to me. Plus I don't live with my phone Constantly in my hand so sifting through tons of notifications just to find a reply I want to see would do my head in lol

I like organisation. This has that, fb groups don't, each to their own though

I don't know what well known Facebook group is being hinted at here, but I tend to find there are a few nails ones that I'm a member of and salon owners type thing but they're all very different from here. Here there is a lot more activity and new posts etc relating to business, skincare etc whereas so many fb pages are people trying to flog their mlm tat or showing their latest set of nails. I like some of the closed groups for support and advice but still love SG.

I think the problem with Facebook is that people are less guarded about what they post thinking its 'safe' but there are lots of trolls and fake accounts these days so you still have to exercise caution when posting.

You can set your salongeek account to receive notifications when someone posts a reply to a thread you're part of, quotes you etc. I know i wouldn't give this community up for fb. There's more reliable information here.

Which well known group is this?

The one where you and a bunch of other geeks & ex geeks rag us off as bitchy and unhelpful yet your on still on here every day?

I think you ought to take a look at your own content of replys before you deem us geeks as bitchy and negative in future...

For the record I don't think I've seen anything much on Facebook I couldn't find on here

I don't know this aledged "well known fb group" and after reading your post Kahuna, I don't want to - sounds a great group....not!

I love this site and to be honest I have never had a run in with anyone on here , everyone is lovely and willing to help , the only thing what gets my back up and obviously others is when you have " non professionals " trying to get free advice for a home job ! X

And we then get labeled as nasty or bitchy coz we won't help out, people need to understand most part is us following salon geek rules, I think the most offence is cause on here between non pros & veteran industry folks, all the newbie geeks just tell them anything!

I nose on there. But you have to trawl forever.
And 100s of people comment. Too much info!
I def prefer SG

What facebook group? Ive been trying to find oue to use but havent as of yet x

Bitch, blunt and snooty comments aren't accepted there :) :)

Sometimes, I think people need blunt.

I know I'm pretty blunt... Without ALWAYS meaning to be rude.

No, too many people being rude if someone doesn't know something. Didn't realise how flawless certain individuals are..not.

I can't say I've experienced that.

I do think that some people, normally new Geeks expect the answer given to them. I prefer helping someone in the right direction.

Also, I think when things are written, you read into them how you chose to. It might not be meant in the way it's interpreted.
