Am training for facial skincare and massage, and am getting differing orders for facial, can anyone clarify for me, ie cleanse, exfoliate, massage?, steam?, mask?, tone, moisturise.......

I think a facial routine is entirely up to you or the product range you use. It will change depending on what you are wanting to achieve from the facial. Personally just now, I tend to do, double cleanse, tone, blot, exfoliate, tone, massage, mask, hand/scalp massage, remove, tone and moist. But this is a relaxing aroma facial, mostly for relaxing or perking up skin. I do al sorts of other types of treatments for aging, congetion etc like caci, hydratone, microdermabrasion etc etc

This is how i do it

1st cleanse
tone
Skin analysis
2nd cleanse
exfoliate
tone
steam
extract
tone
massage
mask
tone
Moisturise

Everyone does it different but if you are at college I would advise you stick with the routine they gave you xxx

eye and lip make up removal
cleanse x2
tone
exfoliate
tone
analise skin under mag lamp
extractions if needed
massage
mask
remove mask and tone
moisturise inc eye cream

i don't use steam now but when i didi i did it after exfoliation and it makes exztraction easier then too.

If you are a student then you need to learn the routine that your tutor is teaching you, not the ones that we may use because that won't get you through your course!! Get your tutor to clarify the order that SHE wants you to know.

I was taught exactly same facial routine order but i can't remember superficial cleanse actually shown to me. Do you use same product to perform superficial cleanse as when deep cleansing?

Thanks.
