I have a college assessment coming up and I need to do a facial on a man. How do I do the cotton wool cleanse (because of the stubble)? Do I miss out the cotton wool cleanse and just do a manual cleanse, or do I do it with sponges instead of cotton wool?

Some help would be very much appreciated!

They tend to come in clean shaven for facials - could you ask your model to do that?
Otherwise sponges are your best option
:wink2:

I use sponges because all the cotton wool gets stuck in the stubble. I also tend to be abit more gentle around the stubble area and try not to drag upwards and irritate the area. HTH

I would not use cotton wool during a facial other than eye area on a man.Even when clean shaven,if the male client has say a 3pm facial appointment you will find there will probably be some stubble which the cotton wool can stick to.It stops the flow of the facial I find and becomes one big mess which can be avoided by not using cotton wool.

Just use either a warm flannel or sponges, they work very well.HTH

As mentioned above - don't use cotton wool, use sponges or hot towels. Also, try to brush the sponges etc downwards when removing products as even with shaven stubble it's very uncomfortable having the stubbly bits dragged upwards!!

Thanks for your help everyone!! Big thanks for the tip about not pulling the skin upwards - I had no idea, so am especially grateful for this bit of advice!
