Hi, I currently offer dermaplaning and chemical peels from my home treatment room, however business has been slow recently (I've only been going 5 months) I'm thinking of doing a 'basic' facials course so I can offer that as a cheaper alternative to dermaplaning/peels. Do you find facials a good seller? Or is there another treatment you find sells well? Thanks!

Did you not have to already have that qualification before training to do Dermaplaning and chemical peels?!!!

I'm a nurse, I started a skincare and aesthetic clinic and I'm gradually expanding. The next course I do was going to be fillers or mesotherapy, but I've had a few requests for normal facials so want to add that in as well

I'd suggest that you do both level 2 and level 3 in facial units if you want to continue expanding the range of advanced facials.

If you think that long term you would also like to offer manicures, pedicures, waxing, make up & eye treatments then enrol on a full level 2 beauty course.
Once you have level 2 beauty you could then move onto a level 3 beauty course which would add massage, face & body electrical treatments - all of which is sound training in the electrical side of treatments. Electrolysis is another specialism you could add later.

I went into beauty after nursing (RGN) and although you get a huge amount of human biology knowledge on your nursing qualification, what you learn on a full beauty course is in far greater detail with regard to skin, skin conditions and nail conditions.

Thank you, that's really

Amazing, that's really helpful thank you! What treatments do you offer now? Did you keep your registration and pin when you went into beauty? Thank you!

I left nursing in 1987 so no I could not practice now without doing a long back to work course. Been in beauty 30 years now and no regrets. The nursing experience is very handy though especially with my elderly clients.

I trained in beauty in 88/89 and back then we learnt everything!

I adore facials and my clients seem to as well. I find them very relaxing to do as well [emoji4] I would definitely add them to your repertoire x
