Ok, hope I'm not going to sound thick but,,,, I have a client who had skin cancer back in March, she had a lump on her nose, she had it removed and everything has been ok since then. She had been having caci and I recommended that she gives it a break, just for about 6 months make sure everything is ok.

Well, I have just started using susan molyneux and they do a collagen facial which I thought would be really good for her.

Do you think a facial will be ok????? some people say that massage increase's circulation so not to massage with people that have cancer????? How long do you recommended to wait?????

Thanks
Kerry

if i were you, i always think when in doubt get your doctors advice. i wouldn't offer a full body massage or lymphatic drainage on a client with a history of cancer but a facial massage i would say would be ok but get ya doctors advice first

Most cancer specialists will let a client have treatments because it makes them feel good. I have a note from my consultant to say I can have any treatment apart from deep tissue massage, as he thinks any other treatment is beneficial for me. I would always recommend that the client just get permission from their GP or consultant to say it ok, and get them to sign a consultation form.

I had this very same question from a client about a facial for her friend and I asked my old tutor who said to get the client to get it cleared by her GP and get her to sign a disclaimer. Apparently the massage is not good if you have cancer so maybe not do the massage part to be on the safe side.
