I want to learn how to give facials and want to know if someone can recommend a facials only course that they have attended and can recommend?

I don't think I want to be doing beauty therapy course just so I can learn facials.

Thank you

xx

There really is no easy way if you want to specialise in facial treatment. I did my training and then decided to specialise in facial treatment. At least by doing your training you will gain an understanding of anatomy and physiology, how different things affect the skin such as diet, nutrition, etc.. also you will learn about products and how they are formulated, which ingredients are effective or not. This takes a little time x

I agree

One of these short facial courses is ok if youre just gonna do a few pamper facials for a bit of spare cash, but if you wish to be treated like a credible skin therapist then you really need to look at doing some full education on it.
Also many Professional skin care companies will not supply you if you have anything less than an NVQ L2 - so bare that in mind

I could not recommend doing beauty therapy level 2 enough.. At my college we trained with a well known skin brand (dermalogica) and we even had dermalogica come in to do a training day with us.. I have learned so much about skin care from this course and having the opportunity to perform facial skin care treatments on paying clients has really given me so much confidence and helped me to become familiar with different skin types.. If you want to specialise in skin care I would deffinatley do a beauty course as there's so much to learn and i believe you would learn so much more on a beauty course than you would doing a short course in skin care with no previous qualifications or experience.. Plus youd get the benefit of learning and practicing the other treatments aswell such as mani.. Pedi etc. :) xx

If your set on doing a course for facials I've seen some in capital and Ellisons I think.. I think you can train with skin care companies aswell buy correct me if I'm wrong but I think to train with skin care companies you have to have a minimum of a level 2 beauty related qualification xx

i think you guys are right and correct about level2 beauty. i've been looking into standalone facials and level 2. the level2 is obviously much more in-depth and comprehensive.

Can i ask what is the demand like for facials?

My demand for facials is quite high, but - and it's a big but - that has been built up over a long period of time. During that time, my bread and butter has been treatments such as waxing, manis, pedis, shellac etc. Only in the past 2 years, since taking on Environ, have I started to sell courses of facials, to retail products, and to become a 'go to' salon for those with skin problems. The more advanced facials (using galvanic or microcurrent etc) also require either a level 3 qualification or an electrical facial qualification - there are no short cuts. Good luck on your journey.
