Hi Geeks

Just a quick one......

I've got two facials booked in tomorrow afternoon. They have called a second time just now to confirm that I definately do extractions which I have said we do

However, in our new salon we don't have a steamer. All previous facials I have done, I have steamed and then extracted. As we have only been in the salon a week, we are very limited on resources (apart from product, Skintruth) at the moment.

So my question is..... at what point in your facial do you find it the most beneficial (without a steamer) to do the extractions?

I wouldn't want to be doing extractions without first softening the secretions - if you don't have a steamer you could try successive hot towels to soften them before removal.

hi you could do a hot towel compress in the absence of the steamer as the heat from these will still help to open pores and loosen the comedones

Agree with both Martin and Lenna about hot towel compression. Bowl of hot water with facial towel. Wrap the towel around the face and gently press. It is divine and feels heavenly plus helping to open the pores.

I would cleanse, tone, skin analysis, exfoliate (as this will also help to open the pores), then rinse and hot towel compress once or twice, followed by extraction. Half way through extraction, you can apply hot towel again if necessary.

Works a treat. The advantage with steaming is of course the ozone facility if the steamer has one and the client needs it.

SwissDermyl has a product called Bio Creme which, when applied, allows for extractions minus a steamer. You leave it on for 10 mins and then extract away, with spectacular results. You complete the treatment with Bio-Arome E oil which calms and settles the skin.
V V good!

You`re a minefield of information...

Where do you buy Swiss Dermyl from, is it Repcom? And do they have
a minimum order?

The Bio-Creme and Bio-Arome sound excellent.

Thanks for the address for the Flexitol Heel Balm

SwissDermyl can be contacted on 01455 891785. You need to speak to Andy or Julie (I think Andy is on hols this week)
They have no minimum order either on startup or any time after that. If you'd like to see what the range is like come and have a facial on me; I live in Hampshire too!

this site is brilliant. i made a note of the swiss dermyl bio creme.
my last facial had lots of tiny blackheads on her chin would this help? x

Indeed it would!
It makes gentle manual extraction sooooo much easier!

thanks for your help, i have some on order, cant wait, altho this lady had soooo many on her chin and around her nose. very tiny ,,,, i only think i can super cleanse
