I have a lady comin back on tuesday for a fake bake tan. she needs me to even her up a bit.
She is very very brown everywhere except her legs.

I am trained in spray tanning (only been doing it since feb) and this is the first time i have been asked to do this.

I was thinking, can i spray her legs more than once? (spray her, let it dry for a few mins and then re spray?) or, should I wait until I see what the colour is going to be under the guide colour after she has showered and re spray again the next day?

Actually, maybe you can answer this question for me, do any of you spray the customer more than once? I had a lady in this week who said that the place she used to go to sprayed her 3 times all over each time she went.

I spray once all over and then quick misting all over just to ensure there is no where left undone.

any advice?

I think I remember this problem being posted on here a while ago and a geek suggested that the legs don't tan as well was because the skin on the legs is thicker than on anywhere else on the body.
I spray like you, once all over and then a quick misting to ensure that nothing has been missed.

It was probably me as I had a problem a couple of weeks ago with a very regular client having "pale and patchy shins" with her usual Fake Bake darker tan.

I think instead of it being because the skin is thicker, it's more likely to be because it's thinner on the shins causing the odd problem. My own shins also come out paler than above and below - over many brands applied by several different therapists.

Last week, first time ever, another client asked me to completely spray her twice over with her usual Fake Bake Darker (and she paid extra too, without me having to ask). When I left her she was a solid dark brown from head to toe, and the following day she reported she was the intense colour she was after and it was perfectly even. She then told me that her other spray tan therapist (yes, I have to share her) ALWAYS sprays her twice over.

But I don't want to spray clients twice over as a matter of course! It takes twice the solution, twice the time and twice the effort!

What do you long time experience spray tanners say?

xx

I'm a newbie spray tanner but a fake tan junkie lol just a thought, had she shaved her legs after or was this when she washed colour guide off? from personal experience my legs are whiter if I shave but if I'm going out I slap some deep bronze xen tan on to even my self out (as its not as dark as the dark lotion colour guide)
Also I was on the fake bake spray tan course last thursday, the training instructor lisa advised a double spray does not give a darker colour unless you have one and then a second the day after hth xx

no hon, I have not explained myself very well. it was that she had been out in the sun and was very brown everywhere else except for her legs. she has a party on thursday and so is coming on tuesday for me to match her up a bit. I have not sprayed her before.

So, i was wondering how to do this . she is really really brown and her legs are very pale. that was why i was wondering how to match her up to her existing natural sun tan.

So I think I may spray her legs on tuesday once and then if she is not brown enough, re spray her legs on wednesday.

 ah ha I see lol erm well I don't think the tan will look exactly the same but should be close enough and what you've said about respraying the next day should be fine if she does not think it is dark enough. Have you got the FBI darker spray? I'd recommend that if she is really dark else where. hth xx
