hi geeks
went to beauty uk yesterday and saw the fake bake tanning stand, and was thinking about adding spray tanning to my menu and just thought i would ask some geeks what they thought about this product, i dont really no much about spray tans,
im going to do a little reasearch to see if my clients would consider tanning before i go out and spend any more money,
so if you use fake bake or any other spray taning system please let me know your thoughts.

I too have been thinking of putting fake bake into my salon. I couldn't get to this show, but I asked my friend to pick up some info from the stand for me. She told me that she changed from su-do to fake bake in October and has said she is doing more tans than ever before. She says her clients love it and the colours are fab. She said the compressor is a lot noisier than her other and the booths can be awkward to put up and down.

From my experience from getting done at other salons... I don't like it at all!

It leaves you grubby looking and once you ave showered i was orange, patchy, i stunk, and it didn't last 2mins!

Hi i have trained with FAKE BAKE in September and it was one of the best thing i have ever done. Brought a lot of new clients so i am well happy!! I did buy a tent from FB (its more expensive than other tents but it is relatively easy to put it up and down and its absolutely HUGE). I bought a HVLP machine from someone on this site which i am happy to pass you on to details or he can find you here and offer his services lol!!!

There are only two solutions with FAKE BAke but i find that there is something for everyone.

Whether you choose FB or any other tanning brands, you will never look back!
If you want more details, you are more than welcome to PM or ask any query.

Good luck in your new venture!!

I had a manually applied Fake Bake a couple of weeks ago and it was very good indeed. Not at all patchy, orange, or streaky, and mine lasted well over a week. I had a manually applied St Tropez about 5 years ago and it was awful; I look as if I'd been tangoed!
Perhaps the technique and preparation contribute in some way to the result?
I'm seeing Michaela from FB tomorrow to sign me up. I shan't be offering the spray though, just the Gold.
Can't wait for my training at the end of the month; I have five bookings already!

After reading other messages, I'd like to hear more from you. Was it the tan itself or was it the peron who applied it that left you in such a state?

I also see that you are a tantrick trainer, how do the two compare in your eyes?

Thanks

hi I'm trained in st tropez and fake bake both creme and spray applications- I love them both

fake bake is a great colour- my clients love it too, I've not had any compliants xx

Hi, I have had a Fake Bake spray tan a couple of times, as well as St Tropez and another generic one. The salon I go to charges 3 different prices with Fake Bake being the middle one. It is always a lovely colour on me and it lasts longer than the St Tropez. It also smells better :). It was the same lady that sprayed me each time so I think I can give a fair comparison. Another friend that I "tan" with has the same thoughts as I do.

I think the salon I go to uses the same gun but just puts the different bottles in. Is that right? As then surely its easy to offer a few different ones at different prices.

Good luck, whichever you choose :)

Well i actually went back to get another tan a few weeks later at the same salon but with a different person. I got the same out come. I was left sticky, i felt dirty and as if my skin couldn't breath!

I have compared more or less all tans on the Market and found Tantrick by far the best. Thats why i started to used them and then become a trainer and distributor.

If you haven't done spray tan before i really advise you to get a few samples from all the company's and try them out. Don't just go with some one because your friend uses them or because they have a big name! It doesn't always mean they are the best out there...

Thanks for your reply. I find it really useful to hear other people's opinions of products. I have had a fake bake tan recently and loved it. I have had St Tropez before and Sun Junkie and Sienna, I didn't like the colour St Tropez and I found the Sienna and Sun Junkie went patchy as soon as I got a shower.

I like Fake Bake but I have some samles from other companies coming over for me to try. I have heard a lot about Barly Sun too, has anyone tried this?

A couple of members of my staff wear it all the time and I always want to give them a good scrub, lol!

In my opinion it always looks dirty, and they don't do a light shade in spray solution, only normal and dark.

i didn't like the manual tan but really pleased with the spray tan..less patches and no orange colour at all...xx

Try Urban tan or xen tan these are my 2 faves. I do like fake bake its one of the better ones but doesnt come in many shades only 2 i dont think this is enough thats why im not using xen tan as that only comes in 1 shade but it actually is a fab shade i love it! Fake bake is quite dark what they used to do in a salon near me was mix half fakebake half st tropez if you didnt want to go too dark. Anyway i hate sun junkie its naff stuff no offence to anyone!:irked:My advice try Urban Tan.

Thanks geeks
there are mixed opinions about fake bake, did know that there was so many company's doing the spray tan,
as for the samples i haven't got a spray gun so i wouldn't be able to try these out,
will give some other companys a ring for some more info on there spray tan systems,

Do your training first then purchase a machine to suit your budget then once you have that under your belt you can start sampling whats out there have you been on the tan professional website /spraytan supermarket they can give you training and will train you in all the different types of equipment. Good luck

i trained with tantrick and thought it was great, but i personally get my tans done in a salon and they use fake bake and i love it.
It lasts ages if u look after it properly and has never been patchy etc, though ymabe being trained in tanning I know where to exfoliate etc....once she didnt even use moisturiser on my knees, elbows etc and it was still lovely!
Defo get some samples if u can but i say many of them are quite similar, i trained with tantrick as it was closest to me, and fake bake werent as big at the time

SUNLABORATORIES iv used this one for over a year know have had little or no complaints so far ,colour is fab and has a nice smell ,i think it all depends on the persons skin type ,iv had fake bake a few times went on lovely and quite brown but came right off the nexted day leaving very little on ,theres that many now on the market i like this one so i think il stick to this solution for the time being as my clients love it ,its just so natural looking and thats what you want ,saying that we cant please everyone and clients will have their favourite

Hi,
I have just started in the mobile spray tanning industry myself after alot of saving and serious research...i have tried every single tan possible! i have just purchased the urban tan spray tan caddy and although a little pricey it is absolutley brilliant! it comes in 7 different shades and dries instantly with different aromas available too! i found this to be the best, personally! i do like fake bake products as i like to be quite dark but i dont think they are best suited for everyone as it gives a muddy brown result.

Hope this helps....

Kimberley xx
