Hey everyone,

I'm a nail tech so no nothing of fake tan etc but I'm feeling exceptionally pasty just now and would love a wee tan, I've been worried about getting them before as I have quite sensitive skin, are any brands better than others? Not a DIY one but one where I get sprayed etc (I've got ones like that but I'm crap at putting it on myself!). Thanks!! xx

Reactions from fake spray tan is rare but personally I'd have no problem offering a patch test if a client wanted one. Infact anyone with a prior reaction to anything will have to have one (and not just because my insurance states so) because I wouldn't risk anyone having a full reaction on their entire body :) Personally I use Nouvatan but contact a few local salons and ask them if they will do a patch test for you with their products :) I can't imagine any would say no...

Patch test a tan from your local salon, get them to do it on an area that is actually sensitive and that is where you'll get the best feedback from. When I get a spray tan if I end up itching it's always the insides of my arms or the back of my legs where it gets me, not the back of my neck where a testing application tends to be applied...therefore when they do it on my neck no scratching, but on my full body I still scratch!...Go for a high moisture one so's not to dry your skin and go for a natural ingredient based one like Sienna X or I think (but don't quote me) Vani T?

Thanks both of you, think i'll go down for a patch test at my local as per advice, she uses sienna x so like the sound of natural ingredients :) xx
