hi

i have been renting a room for the last 3 months and im unsure of some things.

when i started, the hairdressers said that they would take any calls that comes through their landline and book people in for me but recently the junior stylist keeps coming up and knocking on the door for me to take the call.

they also send clients up and once a client even walked into the room before waiting for me to come to the door. i just find this annoying as i know i wouldn't like it if my therapist kept answering the door. i have my own line so i dont expect them to take all my calls. i wouldnt like to leave a client in the middle of a massage if you know what i mean?

would i notice on the door saying 'leave their name and contact number on a note and ill contact them as soon as possible' or even for them to wait, work or does it look unprofessional? i wouldnt want to lose clients as well though while im in doing a treatment.

im just wondering what other therapist do that rents a room?

thanks

the hairdressers take my appointments, if they can't answer the questions from the client they leave me a note. They used to come and knock on the door to ask me questions, but I've made it clear that when I am in an appointment I am not to be disturbed.

I had decals made up on vistaprint, with please do not disturb on them and they are on the door of my treatment room.

I have a separate waiting area for them to sit, although I have had a few people just barge in regardless, which they NEVER do more than once as I explain that they are not to do that.

Train the hair staff on how to handle your reception issues. they clearly don't know the do's and dont's! Write them a crib sheet if needed.
