squoval for me and most of my clients !!
i love squoval for white tips,but if i wear nayural tips i prefer them slightly more oval ...and i think sculpts look nice oval (but only coz i start off square and mess them up so end up filling them into an oval shape,lol!!!)

i love the stiletto - though cant seem to get it quite right, though i have small nail beds, maybe its better on longer nail beds?

any tips on getting the shape right?

I'm having a dilemma..

for a while I had the worst habit of just retipping all the time.... I dont know why. I guess just because I 'could' easily as opposed to as if I were a client myself .. know what I mean? Just sit and do them in front of the tele?

Now for the last bit, been trying to be a good girl, and just keep doing refills instead. Now I have an NNO BUT it's shorter than I like because occasionally I file a corner off a nail when filing other ppl's nails (when I forget to flex wrap my own)..... so I filed them all to match. HATE them this short.:irked: I LOVE them ultra long like in this pic

but right now, they're sporty and squoval or 'ovalesque' LOL

I want sooooooooooooooooo bad to retip them... and trying not to...
Just want to cut them down and slap on nice long new tips... new nail art...

what about just taking the shine off with a 180 and sculpting a bit of extra length on them.....????....then do them oval.....this way you never file the corners off when working on clients and you can get away with having them longer as they dont snag or catch ..... i used to hate oval and now i adore it....HTH xx

i said squoval for me last time ,but i have changed my mind now,i prefer oval for myself! most of my clients are saying how much they like mine this week to (sculpted custom blend/oval)
so i think i best get nancy nail trainer out and improve on the sculpting pretty quick !!!!!

I love stilettos................sleek and so user friendly...............
they can make the right nailplate look so sexy.............and if you create the coloured slipper look it is even more of a wow factor and I love WOW factor big time..............

Squoval is a square nail, but with the corners slightly rounded off, so the main shape is square - if any other geek can explain it better please do!! lol!

I chose square and long!!! I love it on myself - P&W's, as long as I can possibly get them safely, and SQUARE - with some nail art!!! I like to look fake! lol - they dont look like porn star nails, just a bit of a statement!

BUT - when I am working, I have them much shorter, P&W's with nail art and squoval - just so I dont slice my client with the free edge - lol!

As for clients, I go with what ever shape mirrors the cuticle, some INSIST on square and love them, which is fine by me because I love creating them!

I like square also because it gives you more room for nail art, and IMO helps to keep designs looking symmetrical - if I've spelt that correctly - its late! lol xxx

I love the look of the almond shape on my clients with longer, even nail beds. I like it on myself too, but it's kind of a modified almond, because my nailbeds are slightly fan-shaped (grrr). If I file just right, I can camoflage that, though.

I like to play with all the shapes if possible.

I voted long and square, but do like squavol also.

I tend to change mine so my clients can see that i can do alsorts, but my preferred shapes are above.

A stiletto shape is like a more pointed almond shape
there is a tutorial on here about red stilettos worth a look!

I'm a squoval fan too, square and long.I can do almond but not as well as the rest that do them all the time. As for stiletto's I've not tried them yet as I'm sure I'd mess them up.:cry:

My favorite shape is squoval because you get the best of two shapes. When I make this shape, I start off square, and then gently "bump" or round the corners.
