Hey girls, I'm pretty new to shellac & could afford every colour to start with but have a collection of about 16, what's everyone's most preferred colours & what's best to layer?

My favourites are..
Tutti Frutti
Grape Gum
Decadence
masquerade
Hotski to Totski
Midnight swim
Beau + Studio White (for French)
Rubble

For layering I really like Decadence with moonlight & roses on top!
Also tropic with iced coral on top is beautiful! :)

Hi Vicky!

For layering I really like Iced Coral which is not being produced anymore but is available in certain places.

I actually have a video on my top Shellac shades which covers "all angles" which client preferences as I know you have to choose wisely with a limited budget!

Hope this helps x

I agree with the lovely Karen, Iced Coral is a fab layering colour I also love layering with hot chilis it creates some gorgeous raspberry tones over pinks and is amazing over purple purple, blackpool etc.

As for what colours you need in your collection my most popular colours are

Cream Puff
Blackpool
Pink Bikini
Tutti Frutti
Rock Royalty
Purple Purple
Tropix
Desert Poppy
Lobster Roll
Wildfire
Cerulean Sea
Satin Pyjamas

I think a lot of it depends on your client demographic 😄. Most of My clients are older so not really blue and green people so the pinks and reds are always popular, together with the darks in the winter. My personal favourite at the moment is Electric Orange ❤️

My beginners collection would consist of..

Classics

Beau & cream puff for French
OR
Negligee & cream puff because you can layer with neg..
Wildfire - classic red
Blackpool - black
Bare chemise - Nude

Spring colours

Blush teddy or cake pop - pale pinks
Mint convertible - min green
Lilac longing - lilac

Summer colours

Hot pop pink - bright pink
Tropix - bright coral
Hot Chillis - great for layering

Autumn/winter colours

Masquerade - deep metallic burgundy
