> An important message from the Police - Please take time to read this
> and take note.
>
> Please pass this along to all the women you know.....
>
> This actually happened a few weeks ago on the M3 Fleet services. It
> was early evening and a young girl stopped to get petrol. She filled
> her tank and walked into the store to pay for her petrol.
>
> The cashier told her 'Don't pay for your petrol yet.....walk around
> the store for a while and act as if you're picking up some other
> things to buy. A man
> just got into the back of your car. I've called the police and they're
> on their way.'
>
> When the police arrived, they found the man in the back seat of the
> girl's car and asked him what he was doing. He replied, he was joining
> a gang and the initiation to join is to kidnap a woman and bring her
> back to the gang to be raped by every member of the gang. If the woman
> was still alive by the time they finish with her then they let her go.
>
> According to the police that night, there is a new gang forming here
> originating from London.
>
> The scary part of this is because the guy didn't have a weapon on him.
> The police could only charge him with trespassing.... He's back on the
> street and free to try again. Please be aware of what's going on
> around you and for your family and friends. LADIES you or one of your
> family and friends could be the next victim.
>
> Please forward this on to everyone you know. Please do not discard
> this message it is very important that everyone knows what is

> Please be careful when leaving your vehicle and make sure it is ALWAYS

>
> A.) Be aware: look around you, look into your car, at the passenger

> vital organ. RUN!
>

> 9. Another Safety Point: Someone just told me that her friend heard a
> crying baby on her porch the night before last, and she called the

> their doors when they're home alone at night.
>
> Please pass this on and DO NOT open the door for a crying baby.

I realised it was a scam as I started reading it, but it does actually have some good safety points in the middle.
Marion x

just read your link. feel a bit daft now but there's a lot of good advice in the email, it's still worth a look for the safety concious x

No need to feel daft, sweetie  we all get taken in by these spam type emails. When I was an IT manager I would have to educate my end users to not send global emails with this sort of thing by asking them to google it first, and then pass it to the IT department. We'd investigate it properly - snopes.com is a good place to check out the urban legend email, and then it was genuine we'd send out the global email.
You weren't to know it was spam - and your intentions were genuine for which we thank you!
:)

Sorry but I think its bloody irresponsible to post scare-mongering chain mails such as these without checking first if they are genuine or not.

Things like this serve no other purpose than to make women paranoid and in turn when they are out and alone they look like victims, and it is a fact that women who look like victims are far more likely to be victims.

If you want advice on how to be safe and how to defend yourself, join a local self defence class, dont rely on the ramblings of hoax emails.

a similar thing did happen to a girl in maidstone.she went in to pay for her petrol and the cashier told her that the payment didnt go through as she paid by card.he told her this because he saw a man get in her car and hide behind a seat.the man wasnt couaght though as he realised that they had seen him so he got out a run off.
so always make sure you lock your car up.xx

i read something similar to this a while back ..i'm not one to believe these hoaxes but it is reality & it does happen whether it is at night or in the daylight ...the sad thing is in this day and age no one wants to get involved ..gone are the days where the friendly neighbour & passerby jumped into help.. i saw an inccident a few weeks ago involving a young woman being pushed & dragged about by a man ,the poor girl was screaming and this was in a residential area during the day and no one came out to help her..i would have stopped to help but i would have probably been turned on & attacked for being the good samaratin. i do tae-kwon-do it combines combat techniques, self defense ,sport exercise, meditation and philosophy & stimulating form of martial arts .Tae-kwon-do training generally includes a system of blocks, kicks, punches, and open-handed strikes and includes various take-downs or sweeps, throws, and joint locks.it is also a confidence booster...oh btw ur never to old to start..i'm 41

firstly, i have already explained that i feel a bit daft for the post !!!
BUT as said before there is some good safety advice in there and if it makes someone look twice at something that could be potentially harmful to them then i can take the bashing!
the post was meant with the best intentions, as a wake up call for all of those who get complaicent, as most of my friends work in a high security prison i know that these things DO happen on a regular basis and as such i dont belive i was "scare mongering " merely hoping to help. sorry if i personally offended anyone, NOT MY INTENTION x
