Hi I love the silk/fiberglass system but I am unsure if you can enhance the nail with just silk/fiberglass with out the tip. I use the backscratchers system.

Could anyone enlighten me?

Thanks:rolleyes:

I know with OPI Microwrap that it's better to keep this system for NNO as you cannot give strength to the length. or you have to apply something else on it, gel, or l/p

Hi

I went on the backscratchers course yesterday and yes you can extend without the tip but not far and it has to be a wrap.

Yes you can extend the nail, by using the silk/fibreglass to form its own free edge, applying resin and pinching, before then building some strength into the nail with more resin. However, I personally wouldn't employ this method for a full set. I find it to be easier, quicker and stronger to use a good quality tip, and overlay that with the fabric and resin, or if sculpting is preferred, use gel or L&P.

I do however occasionally use this method if 'replacing' a broken natural nail, on a natural nail client as opposed to a regular enhancement client, as I find it quite close to the look and feel of a natural nail.

I think you mean a natural nail overlay (NNO), whereby you don't apply a tip and just overlay the natural nail.

Yes, you can do this with fibreglass wraps, make sure you cap the free edge well with your resin after final shaping and before buffing to a high shine.

I use fibreglass/silk from the edge, i love it . A nno its really good for clients that have bitten nails, make sure you dehydrate the nail plate well. Also that you cap it to seal..xxxxxxxxxx
