hi everyone

I am doing fibreglass nails at college at the moment and had my first assessment last night. I passed, which I was surprised about as when you looked closely you could see the fibreglass 'pattern' slightly. Why is this? What am I doing wrong? My tutor never said anything, but I want my work to be perfect! Also do you think brush on resin is better than using the bottle with a nozzle? I have bought some today and it goes on so much better without drying in big blobs! I am going to ask my tutor if I can use that instead.

:)

I used to use fibreglass when i first trained 6 years ago and always had the same problem, i found it was the size of the mesh. I use silk now and find you can't see anything when you have finished them, don't think there is a big price difference if there is any. i understand with your course you can't just change but might be worth a try when you have qualified, I have found silk to be the most popular type of nails enhancement in my area. i used a resin bottle with a nozzle, star nails is brilliant
hth xx:)

You need to ensure that you're saturating the fibreglass/silk with resin but not overdoing it so as to flood the sidewalls and cuticle. That should make the fibreglass fabric invisible. I find that using a brish-on resin helped loads as you can 'lightly stipple' the resin into the fibreglass.
