Ive had a client enquire this morning about doing a childrens pamper party, I havent done one before but have added it onto my insurance as I was planning on starting them.

She said she was hoping to have 12 girls and want me there for about 2 hours (shes hiring somewhere out), shes planning on gettting lots of girly magazines and things like that to keep them occupied and she was going to do make-up whilst someone else did the food, so all im wanted to do is file and polish there nails, im really unsure of how much to charge per child...for a adults file and polish I charge £5.

How much do people think i should charge as i dont want to charge too little/too much? Thanks in advance x

Normally the charge for this service is about £7 - £7.50 minimum per child. However, if you are charging £5.00 for an adult file and polish it might be a bit tricky to charge for the children's. How about giving a round figure (total) and not per head?

When I am pricing parties like this I tend to work out how long I think its going to take me and allocate a price per hour. The other thing I have done is quoted a price for plain painting nails and then said that nail art (which girls all LOVE) like striping / mini gems etc is a litte bit extra.

Check also with your client the extent to which you are required to tidy their nails. I have found that often you'l' get wee girls with fingernails in a horrendous condition and you could be there all day with the cuticle work if thats what they are after.

I also always ask children to turn up with their nails clean and no polish (ie: no fish fingers attached to their index lol!). That sounds cruel but I do this from experience.

Sxx:)

Ok so she has 12 girls and wants you there for 2 hours. That's 6 girls per hour to do - ten mins per girl. How long does your adult file and polish take for £5? Work out how much you need to make it worth your while for a 2 hour period considering your travel to the venue etc and your costs then charge appropriately remembering that people won't value what you price too cheaply.

I do Pamper parties for kids with other colleagues. We would normally charge £5 per treatment (we do mini manicure, mini pedicure, makeup and hair) but offer all 4 treatments for £15 so they feel they're getting a saving. I would say any less than that won't be worth your while. I wouldn't go less than £4. Stick some nail art stickers on them (quick and easy and they love them) and you can easily charge £5 per girl.

Good luck. x
