I've just done my first set of Minx nails. I found that when removing the excess with the file it looks really raggy at the ends. So for the rest of the nails a just trimmed it then pushed the tiny bit under the nail with my cuticle pusher. It looked fine but not sure if this means it may lift. It just didn't look right after filing. Anyone else had this problem?

Hiya, when your filing are you going in one direction? Also i find that if i get a good pull on the minx and then push it underneath with the cuticle pusher before you start filing the excess away it works really well.

You need to use a minx glass file for the best results or any glass file will probably work just as well, it seems to cut through rather than tear the minx. I bought mine from sweetsquared and also theres loads on ebay.

It is the Minx glass file but seems to leave a raggy edge! Will have a look at the tutorial thanks x

Hi

What minx did you use? I found that when I did my friends nails with the silver lightning it did this.

When I was demonstrating minx to someone else I did the same application but I wasnt being as careful with the filing as I was in a rush and it came of fine. I realised that I was being too kind with the filing and had to go a little bit firmer and in one direction.

I also looked at the tutorial from Geeg and it helped too.

The main thing was I had to be more positive and firm with my filing and hold the minx taut when I was filing it. It was quite easy then.

Hope you find that it works for you but i think the silver and gold are different textures to some of the other minx too but that just might be my experience. I found the pink came off easier.

I did practice with some spare bits too just so that i could see how i personally found the best way with filing the minx before i did a real client.

Hope that helps a bit but even ragged as my friends nails were they lasted for 6 weeks and she had a job removing them. I was well pleased for a first attempt.

Lisa
