Hey Everyone
Ive had my airbrush since christmas and have finally plucked up the courage to teach myself how to use it which is going alot better than I expected :), although I seem to have come across a small problem. Whilst trying to airbrush my sisters nails I found that I was airbrushing most of them at the same time! definately not a good look!
I tried doing it different ways but kept doing the same thing, so I decided I should get a finger rest but the only ones I can find are either from hong kong (which takes an age to get to me, if it does at all!) or from places that charge more for delivery than I pay for the item.
So, does anyone know of anywhere to get one without paying the earth for delivery or do any of you lovely geeks maybe have a spare one?? (sorry for being cheeky:rolleyes:)
Thanks
Stacy
p.s sorry for waffling :)

I could never get on with the finger rest as I found that I needed to rotate the finger and you cant do this with the finger rest... I got mine out of Hairways but other wholesalers do them too.

What I found worked quite well was to put on a latex glove so that the paint didnt go on my own hands and hold their finger with the glove so that most of the overspray went onto the glove and not their finger..

I looked in my local wholesalers but they dont have any (they dont seem to have much really)
I went to Olympia with the hopes of finding one but couldnt, couldnt find much of anything tbh.

hi, sorry to butt in i bought one of these too, and havnt really used it as i cant get the nack...
but im wondering if anyone knows how to unblock the gun when u have let the paint dry in it!!!! lol xxx

Have you tried flushing it through with warm water?
I did this and flushed it through and it got a majority of the dried paint out.
I havent let this happen again though as I dont want to sit there for hours trying to clean it out. I clean mine after every use now.

you'll have to strip it down and give it a good soak in iso propanol, but not if its got any plastic parts, if it does you'll have to just rinse them until they are clean rather than long soaks

Good point....dunno. Not much but to be honest its usually 2 or 3 quid from any of these places as standard

The lady that runs it, is a longstanding geek, (sadly though far to busy to be with us much nowadays)....you could always try calling her and seeing if she could just pop it in an envelope. Her geek name is Suey

Ive never tried using varnish remover.?
Have you tried taking it apart and cleaning it all seperately? I founf this helped as I could get to all the bits that had dried paint on them.
But whatever you do, dont use the needle to try and clean it out, I did that with a different one and bent it and rendered it useless before getting to use it properly
Hope you get it cleaned and usable cos its great fun to use
Good luck x x
