I am still training and have been doing L+P and gel on tips and NNO.
I got my 1st reel of sculpts the other day and this was the first set!

The nail beds are very pink as the nail trainer nails are very pink

I started from the pinkie and tried a deeper smile line on the index nail.

There are a couple more in my folder.

Many thanks.

Nice work for your first try at sculpting...very nice!

Having looked at all the pics I can see you are possible pulling a bit too much pink over as their is a slight shadow of pink on a few smile lines.
The smile lines are very good, although could be a bit more consistent...that will come with more practise.
Have you put a top coat on rather that buffing to a high shine? Looks like it too me...if not then they could be smoother!!
I notice a slight surface imperfection on the index finger (emphasis on slight), a once over with a 240 grit buffer would sort it right out. Again on that index finger the zone 3 and sidewalls could be flusher.

A bit flat on the thumb and pinky....but to be honest it is difficult to get a good structure on the nail trainer tips...so all in all....keep up the good work!!! HTH

Thank you
Yes i did buff and put top coat on too, i had a few porblems with seeing the grain of where the file had been, but i realised that i was using too harsh a grit i think, changed files and seemed to help. I also had issued with the L+P being a bit marbly, and yes i agree i probably did drag a bit too much pink over. The L+P i use is star nails for now, as not had product training and although i get the ball right wetness, it tages ages to settle and slips over the place a bit. If you know what i mean.

The length is good as nail trainers beds can be long, the shape is very good razor sharp sides, due to sharp sides it doesnt look as tho your have lost any product tho I cant see. Apex I cannot tell tho thickness on the thumb seems good try another shot of them so we can see the apex.
Smile lines I like tho try for more consistency and have a point in the centre that denotes the lowest point of your smile and work out from that.
Overall I think these are fantastic 1st attempts

Thank you

If the bead is moving around the nail you dont have th eright ratio this is a huge problem when scuplting as you need to have the correct consistency bead to avoid ghosting, marbeling and nails becoming brittle.

Yes, i thought that was the cause of the problem, but when i get the bead and place it on the form, it looks very dry, almost too dry, but then it soon becomes very slidy. I shall keep practising on my ever willing trainer!!

You need to wait when you place it, and say "1,2,3" or "going, going, gone" and at that point it should have just have sunk down nicely, but still be holding itself as a bead.

Try it on a spare tip, or on a sculpting form until you get it consistently right to find out how much liquid you should be keeping on your brush after you wipe and how long you should keep the brush in the powder. Remember to do the "Going, going, gone" on your brush before you place your bead too, to allow any powder on your brush to be absorbed. Then place it, then wait again, and then look to see if it has sunk slihtly, but still a nice bead. Try it again and again!

I definitely will keep trying and practising
Thank you!
