Hi Geeks

I'm just wondering if anyone has heard of Flexy Gel, as advertised in this months Scratch?

https://shop.michelleporterbeautyproducts.com/catalog/FlexyGel-74-1.html

They compare it to Bio and Calgel and if you send an empty pot of either of those gels, they'll send you a free sample of Flexygel.. I'm just wondering if anyone has tried it yet?

Thanks

thats weird iv just been doing a search on it cos i read the same advert today in scratch :)! it doesnt look like it comes in many colours though by the looks off the michelle porter website! x

I'm dying to see what the clear, pink and white would be like

I'm going to send off an empty Bio pot and give it a try (might as well since it's free):)

Why do they want an empty pot of bio or calgel?

What is interesting is that one of bio sculptures new gels is called flexi gel.

I suppose they are trying to compare it with Bio and Cal gel and the motto is .. if you like Calgel and Bio Sculpture you'll love flexy gel.

It's a bit cheeky really isn't it to basically target those who use both gels.... but as much as I love Bio, it's just so expensive and I'd be happy to try it out as it's cheaper (I know you get what you pay for so time will tell)

Judging by the 'blurb' ... it looks like a Star nails private label to me. Both use the exact same verbiage and both show the same F&B's. Plus the marketing tactics are pure Star Nails ... send us your empty pot etc!!

uuurrrggghh!! Tacky!

uuurrrggghh!! Tacky!

Go compare yourself!

WE all know that MP doesn't make/manufacture the product and we all know who the largest company to Private label is ... If you check out the 2 adds in Scratch for PRONTO (the star gel) and this other one . the verbiage is identical and even in the same order!! Cure time varies a little, but that doesn't mean much.

Every nail brand out there seems to 'suddenly' have their own version of a soak off gel that they claim to be the fastest in the world etc!! They don't all manufacture it (in fact I'm sure hardly any do as most of the brands are not true manufacturers) so someone is selling it to them.

There are adds for no less than 12 different brands of soak off gel in SCRATCH this month aone!! And that list is by no means ALL that are available. How many do you think are really different??? All claim the same thing ... the fastest to apply, the quickest to soak off, a large range of colours etc.

I did see the Pronto add and didn't even consider it as it just looks cheap (IMO)

As the other add for Flexy compared their gel to Bio and Calgel I was curious (still am)

How can they do that if there's no truth to it?

I'll send off the empty pot anyway and I'll report back pronto (no pun intended he he)

How can they do what?? Private label? Make promises? Don't get your question.

Nothing wrong with being curious. Try it!

What I mean is, If the gel they advertise is from star nails, I just can't imagine it could be anything like Bio or Calgel .. I'll be interested to see what the quality of their gel is like so time will tell..

Well they are targeting that particular audience and want you on their data base I'm sure ... that is what that add is all about. If you don't buy that product you may be interested in other things they have to buy. You may buy it and like it?? Who knows .. whatever, it has worked and you are going to have a go, and so mission accomplished. :green:

:) it does do what it says tho. i used the sample they sent and it does soak off really quick. I will be buying it as the deal is good and i get a free lamp lol!

Well, as promised I'm back to let you all know what I thought of the new Flexy gel.

I LOVE it!!! :)

I'm so glad I sent off my empty pot of Bio Sculpture. They sent a small 3.5g pot of gel and I got it before Christmas, so I used it to infill my nails.
I find it easier to work with than the Clear Bio as it's slightly thicker and the finish is harder and glossier.

I had broken my thumb nail, so I did an Enhancement and then soaked it off (just to see if it soaks in 5 mins)... it did!! WOW

My nails still look perfect after 2 weeks with no lifting or yellowing... I've used it on three clients today who loved it and thought it looked the same as Bio gel.

So far so good :)

Has anybody else tried it?

Hi An*gel

Which colour did you use, was it the clear?

I have tried a few colours. The Glitter Red was lovely, but the Burgundy and Black, lacked colour pigment.

I've tried mixing a little of NSI's Opal Shimmer with the Black and it looks really nice.

Yes it was the clear I used with the french white. I got some colours the other day but I haven't used them yet. I do find I get a lot of shrinkage with it though (most soak off gels are the same) so I have to make sure they are capped well.

I have just bought all the colours as they are doing a deal at the moment. I am also on the waiting list for the new ones that will be launched in a few weeks time. My clients love the Red Glitter and Sexy Pink, and have had infills- so far so good! The Red Glitter is like the Bio no.22 but with a gold shimmer.
The best thing is it is so easy to use and lasts. I had spoken to Michelle herself and she was so helpful in explaining the product. It is good to know that they are helpful and dont mind me pestering them with questions. Flexygel is my favourite so far, even though I have been using Calgel and Bio it is so much more cost effective and i cant wait for more colours ;>)

Hi, i am also hoping to find a soak off gel that is as good as bio and calgel but more affordable.

Good question...I didn't have any clear so I put Flexygel colour over Calgel clear and its been great.
