Flying with clip in hair extensions

Bit of a random question but..do the metal detectors pick up on clip in extensions?? Just going on hols next week and would be mortified if the alarm went of because of my hair...I cant just imagine 'can you please remove your hair' and pass through.

Well, you can laugh, but I recently went away on a hen weekend and we all flew with big hairpieces in with butterfly clips and these have metal springs in them.

Mine wasn't picked up by the scanner, but the brides was.....although maybe it wsa to do with the stuff we dressed her up in!
