Hi there,
I started my spray tanning venture about a year ago, I went to work in a salon, but as I had my second baby find it better to work to hours which I can suit myself. So im working as a mobile therapist Well what can I say I love it. I was soo worried about everything last year but have found my own way of doing things. As I have noticed a few questions regarding drying I just let my clients dry themselves tell the to put loose clothing on after 10/15 min. I use Tantrick and love the lotions, a bit pricy but hey whats not nowadays lol, and find the lotion great so the price isn't an isssue. I am going to be hosting a tanning party very soon, to reward customers and hopefully gain some more. I am in Fife Scotland so son't get as much money for tans as what maybe people would in England but I am under competition from other shops close by so I have negotiated a price of £15 which works well for me, however when I hold my tanning party I will charge each person £9.50 as I am hoping to build on my clientel. Anyway any1 looking to venture into spray tanning go for it, ask companies for tester bottles and try the different colours out, it's what you as a person like, and listen to other people but it's your business. Hope this helps and good luck to everyone :) x

if your normal spray tan price is £15 couldn't you maybe lower it just a little for tanning parties to something like £12.50....£9.50 seems very low to me. I understand you want to keep prices low to attract clients but what happens when they have had the cheaper tan at a party and are not happy to pay the normal rate thereafter? will they then simply look to the next tech who's doing them for less than £15?

I really do hope your tanning business is a success...just remember to earn yourself some money after all your hard work

xx

Maybe try offering the tans at the normal price of £15 and the host of the party getting their tan free as this encourages people to have tanning parties which is probably more likely to bring you more new clients x

Tan partys I do 5+ guests at £10 each and hostess gets her tan free -all salons around here have tans from £7.50-fake bake right up to £22 so I thought £10 was best and I have found clients getting tans done every week even if they dont have nits out because its affordable :)

Wow, I can't believe how cheap some of these prices are! I cannot see any profit to be made from them:eek:

You need to work out how much you think you're time, for supplying the service, is worth and then add the costs of products and consumables e.g. solution, sticky feet, underwear, barrier cream, hair cap etc to it. Don't forget to take into account the cost of your running costs e.g. rent, rate, motoring costs, insurance etc etc and then add 20% to allow for what the tax man will take away.
