Full well tip coverage

Hello, I am currently doing my Level 2 in Nail Technology. I am getting familiar with different nail tips and have recently purchased some full well tips. I was taught that the nail tips should cover 30% of the natural nail. These tips seem to cover more than 50% of the nail. Should I be cutting the well area down or cutting them into a V shape when this happens? I just thought I’d ask as I’ve seen a few technicians on Youtuble not cutting them down and leaving them on the nail with 50% coverage and then applying acrylic so I just wanted to make sure what the correct procedure is.

Yes you tailor them to fit, cut out as much of the well as possible but retain enough to get as much contact as possible
