Well our gas and electricity have gone up jointly by £30 per monthly direct debit and I'm so maaaad:irked:. Each was £30 per month and I've had a letter today to tell us this is not enough. (But we only owe them about £20 over the year so the increase must be due to their price rises I think.)

Does this sound reasonable to anyone? I'm guessing we're pretty average.

3 bed house. 2 adults 2 kids. Brand new A rated boiler (£2,600 but that's another matter)

£47 per month gas. £43 per month electricity.

Anybody with anyone cheaper, I just feel we're being ripped off. We get both gas and electricity from Southern Electric and are supposedly getting a discount for dual fuel.( ha ha.)

Who are the good ones to swap to?

Im sure what we pay so i will ask hubby when he gets home from work, i know we have E,on as hubby works for them anyway but we dont get special treatment trust me! i think we do get a discount for duel fuel though.I will ask him when he gets home and get back to you , dont even know if E,on are in your area anyway but will ask.
Good luck zena x

sounds cheap to me! I am paying 47 a month for gas and 82 for electric!!!

dont owe them anything, 2 adults 2 kids and a snow dog that means we freeze in the winter cos he gets too hot if we put the heating on

I had to argue and make countless phonecalls to get them to only put my gas up from 26 a month to 47, they wanted to put it up to 100!!!!

I know prices have risen but i really can't see where it all goes?? the only thing gas we have is a combi boiler so it heats water when needed, not like its heating up a big tank of water everytime or anything?, everything else is electric...

arggghhhh i hate it when they do this, its one of the reasons i swapped, because you would be over by £10-£40 on the year, (over the winter) so they increase your monthly payments by loads, then come the summer months your in credit by £50-£100 its bloody ludicrus

i now pay £96 a month for both, (5 bed semi) and have an online account, no calling for meter readings at all (after initial one was taken) its all done by me submitting my readings and they then deduct my monthly payment and i can see whats left, then i just make any small overpayments and its clear again, its worked great for last 9 months

im with Manweb now, ive tried, npower, scottish power, etc, etc, all promised they dont put DD up during first year but all did and then you have to fight to get back what they owe you, but i am really happy with this online accoutn with manweb, i manage it all myself and can see excatly whats going on

£47 per month gas. £43 per month electricity. I pay £80 a month gas & £100 a month electric

Last week i spoke to no less than 6 different suppliers and based on my consumption ive been advised that im currently with the cheapest supplier

Forgot to mention my mays quarterly bills came in at £277 electric and £196 gas

I'm with Southern Electric as well hun, but only in a 2 bed.
2 adults 2 kids, me and Meg at home during the day, t.v, internet etc....
I pay £35 elec and £30 gas and I'm in credit on both of them.

We recently switched to Scottish Power, as they were offering a capped tariff with no price rises until February 2011; we are paying £129 per month on direct debit for gas and electric combined - however the largest portion of the bill (around £80) is for electricity - not surprising with me running two servers 24/7 lol. Hopefully I will be able to retire one of them soon when I move e-mail and the rest of my web sites over to the new one...

O M G I'm just taking the bills on.
Dunno which is which but gas and electric £40 and £45 a month.
BUT in all fairness if it's cold the kids wear 3 jumpers and go to bed and you only get a tepid wash:) Especially if mum needs to wash her hair:lol:
No I'm kidding....you know me and you know I'm the Queen of hot water and if the temperature changes the heatings on!
Jeeeeez does this mean I'm gonna be paying more?
4 bed detached. 3 bathrooms.
O M G !!!!
I'm moving to a two bedroomed terraced and all 3 kids will share a room if this is the case! (Imagine the rows?)
The council tax alone kills me.
In fact. Don't even get me started.
BUT needless to say if some person even tries to steal one of my blue recycling bags again they are dicing with DEATH.
Me and a neighbour had a chat this morning and we have ideas:lol::lol:

Hi blossom,
sorry to disappoint you but it would be really difficult to find a company that is not raising their charges, all companies are following the same trend. I remember when I could buy electricity and it would last for two weeks before I have to get the next lot lol
