Hi
I'm feeling a huge lack in confidence since i qualified in gel. Its still taking me 2 and a half hours to do a full set of nails and by the end of it I'm shattered and unsure if ive done a good job. I wonder if i would benefit from going to get my own nails done so that i could see how others work... I havent actually seen a full set of nails being applied (well not since i had acrylics done ten years ago).
If theres anyone in my area that would be happy for me to watch then apply a full set of gel nails that would be great too .....

Hi

I was also thinking about getting my own nails done so that I could keep looking at the shape, etc. Only thing is I did my my own nails this week. So I'm going to let them grow a wee bit before I remove them.

I'm picking up my copy of Nailclass tomorrow. Everyone says it's a must have. Hopefully that will help me perfect my technique. Do you have a copy?

Hi Hun,
Are you sculpting with white? If so don't lose the skills you are building on.
But if you feel you are short on time, try doing the full nail clear or pink, and then do the tip with brush on French White.
I do this quite often if short for time, some clients don't know any difference, some say that is the only way they have ever had them done.
Don't beat yourself up over times, you will get better with each set.
Yes nice idea to get your nails done and see how they are being done, but try not to ask too many questions as you may upset the nail tech you have gone to. Plus you really need to go somewhere where they use the same brand as you........I would go out of your own area if you were to do this.
Best if to see if a geek on here is near to you, so you can practice on them.
Best wishes.
Lotsa luv x x  x x

Please visit www.cnd.com and watch their showcase highlights. They UV gel one is fantastic and the instructor's technique is beautiful - I am sure it will help!

its a good idea in essence, but how do you know that the tech you go to is doing it well.
if you can find someone you are 100% confident in then it would work.
if someone came to me and paid me to do the nails i would be happy to answer questions.
sometimes after i have trained people and they just want a little refresher to make sure they are doing it right or if they havent got as much practice in as they meant to, they book in for a set and i talk them through what i'm doing as i go along.
