Hi. Just after a quick bit of advice please.
I have an existing Shellac Toes client who would like to change her fingers from Gel to Shellac. Obviously we have discussed the strength issue which would be likely to occur & a few lovely Geeks suggested we file off the gel just leaving a thin layer & therefore letting the gel grow out. My client is more than happy with this.
As I haven't used Gel since I was at college I don't know how well it files off - what I mean is, that if I start off with a 180 grit will it cause so much scuffing to the gel that her Shellac polish (because she always has a French) will show the scuff marks or look dull/muted through it? Would you use a 180 to remove the shine, then go up to a 220 or 240, then a buffing block?
I might be being slightly over cautious here but I would rather that than just hope for the best & have an upset client.
Many thanks
