Ello everyone was wondering if you could help , Today I did some gel nails and they did not end very pretty the gel ran all over the place and took ages to cure could this be the gel box I am using a friend gave it to me and said she has not used it in years ? I have also said to my friend that I did the nails on that I would file the gel off and then do acrylic is this ok to do?

i would say most definately is your uv lamp thats the problem.you wpuld probably be better off gettimg a new one and getting one that goes with the system that you are using.
yes it is fine to buff off the gel and then apply l&p over the top.just make sure that you leave a thin layer of gel on the gel so that you dont risk any damage to her nails by filing them trying to gey the gel off.hths:)

Are you trained?

What gel are you using.....and is it compatible with the lamp...??

Gel can be runny depending on the brand and type.

I think you may need some extra training with the gel and a lamp that goes with it Hun.

Ask your trainer for help, or if you haven't had training, then i would get some pretty quick if you can, or you could cause more harm than good Matey.

Good luck hun.

Thanks all that really helps I am looking into doing a creative gel coarse and I think your right about the lamp . It is the rio gel and lamp think its ready for the bin, I will wait till I can do the coarse as its nothing like the acrylic and proper traning is the only way I will be any good. Thanks for the help just could not let my friend go around with the mess on her hands and people to know I had done them would not be a good advertisement for my nails.

Bin the Rio babes and get yourself booked on a professional gel course...xx

Says it all ...sounds like the gel is self levelling very quickly.....one of the girls I used to work with had this kit for Xmas one year...OMG her nails.....and it took her hours to prepare crater of the moon nails.....wait for your course with professional products if I was you.....l/p as compared to application of gel are two completely different animals....you will be fine filing off the old gel and reapplying with l/p xxx

Thanks you for all your advice will defo wait till I have done the course ,your right they are completly different . I did file the gel off and apply acrylic and they looked loads better so much happier for her to wear them.

totally agree with the rio nails thing.definately bin it.
you will feel so much better when you do the course knowing that you have all the correct and professional products combined with professional training.:)
