Hiya Girls I have another problem, when i do gel nails im finding that they dont last very long? also i am really struggling with getting the right amount of gel on the nail to give it shape, im dragging it all forward and making it thin, whats the best way to do this???

I am doing my first proper customers tonight and I have 2 of them both wanting Acrylic Tips, I think they both have alright nail lengths so was going to use just White tips and then acrylic over the top and they both want a little nail art.

How long should it take to do each set do you think?? Also any ideas for some simple nail art, I have nail transfers and diamontes and the pens and nail paint.

Im really nervous about doing there nails incase they dont like them, would be horrified if they complained or if they dont last long. HELP

You haven't practised really and already taking paying customers?

Seems too rushed for me...

You should really build your skill level using a nail trainer, a friend or your own nails before taking the risk ruining other people's nails...

Can you still cancel?

use a lighter touch with your brush , gel really just needs to be 'tickled' into place and treated much more gently than l/p acrylic .or apply another layer to build the structure correctly.

your profile doesnt say what training you have recieved or what type of products you are using. you really need to tell us a bit more if you want to get some help.

as to the acrylic problem, applying the white tips over already long nails is really not advisable, or did i get the wrong idea ?
having re read your post, i think what you are saying is probably that their nail beds are reasonably long and could take white tips without looking ugly.

and only you will know how long it will take, how long did your last set take ?
or did you mean what is an average time to do them. i usually take about 1 hour and 10 minutes to use white tips and i use natural over the tips and pink on the rest of the nail. some clients like this look aothers may prefer a natural tip blended in and white powder applied over them, which will take a little longer.

maybe you can get some ideas for nail art from my blog or web sites, but it does tend to be a personal thing as to what appeals to each client. better to do a simple design well than attempt a really complicated one and do it badly.

Hi Una

I am taking paying customers doing Acrylic Nails as ive been qualified for over a year. I am not taking paying customers doing gels as im not ready and not qualified yet, this is why im asking for advice. I do my practice on a nail trainer as well.

Have a look at www.cnd.com - they have some fantastic video tutorials that really help. I am extremely visual - so I have to SEE the enhancement performed before I can repeat it.
