Gel polish and fibreglass repairs

I've done a search on this but it didn't quite answer it fully.
I've seen Fingernail Fixers video on using fibreglass under shellac to repair nails.
I was just wondering if any one has done this with gel polish and if it would be suitable for nails that are thin and split vertically from the free edge?

I use Gelish and I have a lady who has a vertical split down her nail.

I apply the foundation layer (base coat) and cure then apply the fibreglass and put structure gel over the top and cure then proceed as normal with the colour coats and top coat.

I use this method on my own nails when they are split and it works really well.

I was applying the silk wrap before the fg but your method of also using structure gel adds even more strength .... I'll give this a go next time ,thank oooooo cx cx
