gel removal

Hi Debbie here, i discovered this site last week and have been pottering about it ever since.
picked up some great tips, everyone seems so helpful and willing to share their knowledge.
i usually find nail technicians reluctant to share anything with you (dont know why that is)

Any way can anyone tell me if there is a knack to buffing off gel nails. Ieither seem to go too far or not take them off enough.
Also is there some miracle cure for over buffed, paper thin nails

One thing you can do is just thin the gel out & leave a thin layer on the nail to grow out, but not too thin or it may flake off. This way the client gets used to not having the strength of extensions but they do still have a little strength. You also don't touch the natural nail at all if that is causing a problem for you.

Once nails have been damaged they have to grow out but you could try a good quality nail strengthener & apply plenty of cuticle oil daily.
