Hi every one ,,

could one of you fabulous nail techs possibly write a tutorial on doing gel toes ???

im a little unsure im new to gel so not sure if it's any different to doing the fingers i.e gel placement and such..

any advice would be great thanks :)

A tutorial sounds good, never done one, but if i have the time i'll shot some pics and post one.
In the meantime here is my step-by-step:

1- Prep toes as you would on hand nails (sanitise, push back cuticle, shape, remove shipe, clease with dehydrator)

2- Apply bonding agent (my case Akzent's Affixit or Surebond)

3- Apply 1 coat of bonding gel (extremely thin). Cure.

4- Apply 1 coat of your regular building gel but in a thin laywer (apply like polish, without building up an apex, as toes do not need the extra streght). Cure.

If doing french
5- Apply paint on white to all 5 nails in a not so carefull manner, then wipe with a clean brush to perfect the smile line. Cure.

If doing color gel
5- Apply one coat of color gel. Cure. Repeat

6- Apply 1 coat of top gloss. Cure for 3 min.

And you're done! Usually take 45 min-1 hour for the toes, and lasts up to 5 weeks as the toes grow slower and do not tend to break...

Sounds good, but remember that techniques will differ to the products you use. Its basically the same as doing it on your fingers, but no need to build an apex xx

fantastic thank you so much for this i just wasn't sure on how to go !! so i'll be practising on my toes tonight !!

Just thought I'd add something that I am trying to kick off with gel toes for the summer...

Same steps as above...prep, shape, remove shine etc, but I quickly cure the first layer and while it's still tacky, I sprinkle glitter all over the nails, finish curing, and then do my second layer of gel. I just bought a few different colors of glitter from the craft store here and it looks great on the toes! :Grope:

Hi yes all of the above i agree with but i would also refine to make sure gel is evan with no dips etc before ya final gloss. Good luck you will be fine xx use solar oil aswell to finish x
