I'm interested in how you all do your rockstar using Gelish?

I find that the glitter doesn't always cover the inhibition layer fully and the colour underneath shows through. I want to create full glitter without a base colour and wondering if I should use glitter on wet or cured structure for this?

When I do rockstar gelish I put a coat of colour on and cure. Then put second coat on and put glitter all over nail plate , gently pat down then cure. Then I put TIO on cure , then buff nail plate all over til dull. Lastly I apply another coat of TIO and cure . Not had problems so far 😀

tronk, can you post a picture of your rockstars :) thanks!

Tronk so you do the sprinkle on glitter into wet polish method?

Yes sprinkle onto second coat wet , gently pat down then cure.

I do nail prep, colour, cure, 2nd colour cure, glitter ( Gently pressed in ) top coat ( I use a separate tio) cure, 2nd glitter ( only if needed) 2nd tio, cleanse, oil, done x

This is how I do it but find sometimes I get bold spots. I'm prob just too heavy handed or used to shellac for rockstar has that has an even more sticky inhibition layer x

I've never had problems with bold spots. What glitter do you use ?

All sorts. Mainly Irresistible glitters. I have some young nail ones and ultra fine craft shop bought ones too, and Nail Gaga's Dazzling glitters but theses don't cover whole nail fully has they have large pieces in too x

I just hate using glitters because of the mess. I think Gelish have enough colours with glitter in not to bother. For this reason I have recently sold all my loose glitters.

When I did use them, I applied a similar colour coat or clear, applied the glitter, cured then top coat. I never got any bald spots.

I used to do it this way but found it made it too rough after the cure.

The only way I do it now is the burnishing way, colour, cure, colour, cure, sprinkle glitter over & brush in with a soft blender brush, get rid of all loose glitter, top coat, cure, top coat, cure.
