Gels on short wide nails

Hey, I dont if anyone can help me with this but i did a set of nails on a friend last night and I really really didnt like the result!
She has very flat nails and they're very very short and wide. I just found them so hard to work with. I use EZflow so i used the cover it pink and did the white tip very small to try enlongate the look of the nail but they just didnt look good at all! I think she was happy with em and obviously i didnt charge cos I'm still practising (dont think ill ever start charging, have absolutely no faith in myself lately) But i just thought they were awful, they looked thick even though they really werent! and they looked so wide but i really dont think i could have used any smaller nails!
can anybody help me with this ... please?? :cry::cry:

I wouldnt beat yourself up too much...after all you can only work with what you have and you cant be expected to perform miracles either and you SHOULD definately be asking for a small amount to at least cover the costs of the products you use...I found the easiest way to do this was to send a mass text to all my friends saying for example that you needed models to practice doing (example) and that all you ask is (£...) to help cover your costs. That way you all know the score without actually having to say it to them!

I think the best thing you can do now is go and take a picture of the nails you did and post it on here...that way you will get lots of helpful advice on how they could be improved etc.

Yeah thats not a bad idea to send around a message like that! I could defo do with a few more hands to practise on!
God i think i'd be too embarrassed by them to post them! I just thought they were awful but i suppose your right I cant work miracles on them. It just had me real down afterwards thinking i'll never get there! i done about 3 sets last week and i was really happy with them but i think it was the shape and width that threw me with these..
I just wanna be prepared for everything cos i could get a client like that and i defo wouldnt be happy doing her nails if thats how they turned out!
