Hello, I am fairly new at doing nails. I've been doing my own gel nails for awhile now and have recently started to them in our salon. A customer came in 2 days ago with acrylic on her nails and wanted them filled in with gel. The acrylic was thick and hard to file but I filed it down and proceded with my gel application. Here's what I did.... cleaned nails, pushed back cuticles and removed dead debris from nails, cleaned again, applied base gel and then sculpture gel, cured, shaped and applied sealant gel. She called yesterday and said they were lifting and one came off. Could this be because the weight of the acrylic at the end of the nail lifted up the gel? Any advice would be helpful. This is the first time this has happened and I don't know how to handle the situation. Also, I use OPI axxium products if that helps.

I think its odd how 1 came off when all you did was apply gel in zone 3...?? if that nail has "come off" then it must be the old product thats come off...

If you are new to nails and gel then the lifting could be down to your application...any gel that touched the skin/sides will lift....gel applied to thick can also lift....also prep...this has to be spot on...

I have in filled on L&P using my gel and they have been fine...so i don't think its anything to do with the gel or the L&P

Do you get any lifting issues with other people nails...?

yes i agree, in theory this process should work.

When I first started doing gels I had some lifting issues but for the last 2 months I've had no issues with that. My customer is very picky and knew that I was fairly new at nails and this was her first time with gels. Shes suppose to come back in next week and I will put her a new set on, starting from stratch. How do other people charge in this situation since I did not do the original set?
